CONTRACTUAL STANDBY RESCUE SERVICES
THE CONTRACTUAL STANDBY RESCUE SERVICE TEAM:
The standby rescue team that we can provide an employer is a group of certified, professional firefighters, personnel of whom currently serve on hazardous material units, and/or rescue squads within their respective departments.
All these individuals have been trained to respond to crisis situations in the efficient, competent manner required of an experienced rescue team.
Each member of our rescue team has met or exceeded the following federally
mandated minimum requirements for certification:
In addition to meeting the previously mentioned requirements, members of our standby rescue team have also received extensive training (and are fully certified) in the following areas:
- Proper use of appropriate personal protective equipment necessary for rescuing individuals from confined spaces.
- Proper performance of assigned rescue duties (i.e., duties performed in addition to the mandated duties required of the entrant, attendant, and supervisor made pursuant to OSHA Standard 29 CFR 1910.146, paragraph [g]).
- Correct application of rescue techniques. (Permit-required confined space rescues are practiced at least once every year by means of simulated rescue operations in which mannequins or actual persons are removed from
representative confined spaces.
