TITLE OF POSTION: Rescue Technician

DEPARTMENT: Rescue Services Division

OVERALL RESPONSIBILITY:
The Rescue Team Member is responsible for developing the skills and techniques necessary to perform the rescue function as a member of the STS Rescue Team.


KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBLITLY INCLUDE:
  • Develop proficiency and implement technical skills necessary for completing rescue jobs as assigned by the Rescue Division Manager.


  • Apply appropriate tactics and techniques such as rope rescue operations, confined space rescue, shoring and stabilization, victim packaging, and extrication.


  • Accountability, maintenance, and the safe/effective operation of rescue tools and equipment.


  • Adhere to all safety procedures both in the office and out in the field.


  • Complete all necessary paperwork as required by this job position including confined space permits, air monitoring logs, rescue team charge sheets, payroll sheets, expense reports, etc.


  • Attend and participate in Rescue Team Meetings as scheduled by the Rescue Division Manager.



TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
All employment at Safety Training Services, Inc. is considered "At Will". This position requires a mandatory 90 day probationary period at which time the employee will be evaluated for hands-on skills with equipment and knowledge of all technical and non-technical skills learned.



MINIMUM QUALIFICATION FOR THIS POSITION:
  • Must have a High School Diploma [minimum requirement].
  • Must pass a physical examination, drug screen, and be medically qualified to wear a respirator.
